Etqan Global Academy in Doha is seeking a Head of Secondary for its newly established IB World School.
The school offers the IB Middle Years Programme and seeks visionary leadership, academic excellence and international-mindedness across the secondary school.
The role
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the secondary school in line with the IB MYP philosophy and school strategic plan.
- Champion concept-driven and inquiry-based teaching and learning within the IB Middle Years Programme.
- Lead, mentor and develop the secondary teaching team through coaching, appraisal and continuing professional development.
- Drive school improvement through monitoring, evaluation, data analysis and self-review processes.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents and the wider school community.
- Collaborate with the Principal, MYP Coordinator and senior leadership team on the school improvement plan.
- Ensure student welfare, pastoral care and wellbeing across the secondary school.
- Oversee timetabling, curriculum planning and academic reporting.
- Promote student agency, the IB learner profile and international-mindedness.
Successful candidate requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or equivalent, plus a relevant degree.
