Role Overview

Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar is recruiting an Early Years Teacher.

The school is a newly established IB World School seeking a warm, creative, and dedicated teacher.

The role supports a play-based and inquiry-led environment for youngest students within the IB PYP Early Years framework.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver play-based and inquiry-led learning aligned with the IB PYP Early Years framework.
  • Create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where children feel valued and inspired.
  • Assess and track development through observations and portfolio evidence.
  • Build partnerships with parents and families through regular communication and engagement.
  • Collaborate on planning, reflection, and review of units of inquiry.
  • Promote the IB learner profile, international-mindedness, and PYP attitudes.
  • Support wellbeing, independence, and social-emotional development.
  • Contribute to CPD, school events, and wider school improvement activities.

Successful Candidate

  • Recognized teaching qualification in Early Years, primary, or early childhood education, such as PGCE, QTS, B.Ed, or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching children aged 3–6 in an Early Years setting, ideally in an IB or international school.
  • Knowledge of the IB PYP Early Years framework or equivalent inquiry-based early years curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of child development theory and play-based, child-initiated learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, nurturing approach to children and families.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice, child wellbeing, safeguarding, and child protection.
  • International school experience is desirable.

School Location

  • The role is based at Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar.
  • Classroom teaching and school-community responsibilities are performed in the school setting.
