Role Overview
Byron Recruitment is seeking an experienced and committed Head of Infant School for a school-based leadership opportunity in Doha, Qatar.
The role supports strategic and operational leadership of the junior school and aims to promote strong educational outcomes, collaboration, care, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support junior school leadership, day-to-day operations, school strategy, teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum delivery, and school improvement.
- Use student data and evidence to guide planning, raise achievement, and monitor classroom practice.
- Lead initiatives supporting wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, inclusion, and pastoral provision.
- Coach and mentor staff, contribute to appraisal and professional development, and support accountability and growth.
- Build relationships with students, parents, and staff; support admissions, transitions, events, and community activities.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field and a recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven primary or junior school teaching experience and demonstrated school leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of junior or primary teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff development, and school improvement.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, wellbeing, and child protection practices, with the ability to use data for planning and decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills and a commitment to inclusive education.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- International school experience or familiarity with British, international, or inquiry-based curricula.
- Experience working with multilingual student populations and diverse school communities.
