Role Overview
The Head of Engineering is a member of the country management team and represents the Engineering function.
The role is accountable for Engineering and Product Management and supports successful delivery of the country strategy.
The position enables engineering teams to deliver suitable formwork designs for complex customer projects.
Engineering Leadership and Strategy
- Lead the Engineering department, including workforce planning, structure, performance management, and KPI delivery.
- Define engineering strategies aligned with country objectives and drive efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions.
- Drive BIM adoption and strengthen capabilities for high-rise and complex projects.
Commercial and Project Oversight
- Partner with the Country Manager on strategy, project costing, technical-commercial proposals, risk assessment, and margins.
- Coordinate engineering activities across projects and oversee quality, safety, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Provide technical leadership for complex projects, claims, site challenges, and change requests.
- Ensure structural designs, calculations, quality standards, and local regulatory requirements are properly reviewed and met.
Team and Regional Collaboration
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering team through succession planning and talent development.
- Work with Sales, Operations, regional engineering, and country stakeholders to optimize capacity and project execution.
- Promote accountability, feedback, continuous improvement, and adoption of emerging technologies including AI.
Governance and Operations
- Establish engineering processes and standards and maintain a strong focus on safety.
- Manage the Engineering budget, cost control, resource allocation, forecasting, and capacity planning.
- Monitor site activities, customer requirements, competitor solutions, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in construction or formwork.
- Strong knowledge of formwork systems, construction methodologies, project execution, costing, contracts, and profitability.
- Proven team leadership, stakeholder management, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Added Advantages
- Experience with regional or international teams is advantageous.
- Knowledge of DokaCalc, AutoCAD, Revit, or Time Cockpit is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabian and Middle Eastern formwork markets or spoken Arabic is advantageous.
