Fynde has partnered with a global cross-border eCommerce platform that specialises in bringing international products to customers across the Middle East and wider international markets.
With a strong presence across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the business simplifies access to millions of global products by managing sourcing, import logistics, and last-mile delivery through a seamless, consumer-first digital experience.
We are now headhunting a Head of Category & Merchandising to take strategic and commercial ownership of category performance across the platform, with an initial focus on Health & Supplements alongside broader involvement across multiple product categories within the organisation.
Based in Dubai, this is a commercially driven leadership role focused on category growth, merchandising strategy, localisation, digital trading performance, and customer engagement across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and wider international markets.
The position blends category management, product selection, pricing, ecommerce merchandising, analytics, and AI-enabled optimisation, requiring someone capable of shaping both strategic direction and operational execution within a fast-paced cross-border ecommerce environment.
Category & Commercial Ownership
Lead the strategy, development, and ongoing performance management of key product categories across the platform, with a particular focus on Health & Supplements.
Drive revenue growth, margin optimisation, customer engagement, and category expansion in alignment with wider business objectives across multiple international markets.
Assortment Development & Curation
Build commercially relevant and scalable product assortments based on customer behaviour, market trends, data analysis, and commercial opportunity.
Continuously identify opportunities to strengthen category depth, introduce new products, and optimise the product mix across both regional and international audiences.
Product Performance & Trading Analysis
Use dashboards, sales reporting, customer insights, and trading data to evaluate category performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
Analyse SKU performance, pricing effectiveness, conversion trends, promotional impact, and customer demand to drive commercial decision-making.
Pricing & Promotional Strategy
Develop and optimise pricing strategies in line with consumer expectations, competitive positioning, and margin objectives.
Plan and execute promotional activity to support seasonal campaigns, category growth initiatives, and overall trading performance.
Regional & International Localisation
Support the localisation and optimisation of category content, product presentation, and customer experience across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and wider international markets.
Ensure merchandising strategies align with local consumer behaviours, cultural nuances, and evolving market expectations.
Ai & Merchandising Automation
Partner with data and technology teams to leverage AI, automation, and merchandising tools to improve category performance.
Contribute towards initiatives involving product recommendations, dynamic pricing, search optimisation, inventory visibility, and broader ecommerce automation strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, operations, supply chain, customer experience, and technology teams to ensure strong execution of category plans and alignment across all customer touchpoints.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Benchmarking
Monitor developments across ecommerce, health & wellness, consumer behaviour, and digital merchandising trends.
Benchmark competitor activity, assortment strategy, pricing structures, and promotional campaigns to identify commercial opportunities and areas for improvement.
Lifecycle & Inventory Management
Oversee the full lifecycle management of SKUs, ensuring products remain commercially viable, available, and aligned with category strategy.
Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to support forecasting, replenishment, and inventory optimisation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience within ecommerce category management, digital merchandising, ecommerce trading, or related commercial functions.
- Strong experience within Health, Supplements, Wellness, FMCG, Consumer Goods, or adjacent ecommerce-led categories.
- Proven commercial acumen with responsibility for revenue growth, margin optimisation, product mix, and trading performance.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities with experience interpreting large datasets and translating insight into commercial action.
- Experience working alongside AI-enabled merchandising tools, pricing engines, ecommerce CMS platforms, or automation technologies.
- Understanding of cross-border ecommerce operations, digital marketplaces, and international trading environments.
- Experience operating across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, or wider Middle Eastern markets would be highly advantageous.
- Arabic language capabilities would be highly advantageous.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and commercially minded approach, with the ability to build, shape, and improve processes within a growing organisation.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-moving ecommerce environment.
