Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Governance Officer – HR to manage and oversee all immigration, visa, and residency processes for expatriate employees.

The role serves as a critical liaison between employees, government authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with immigration laws and regulations, particularly within Libya.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end visa processes including entry visas, exit visas, and residency permits for expatriate employees.
  • Coordinate with immigration authorities (NDA / Immigration and Foreigner Control Division Office) to ensure timely processing of all documentation.
  • Ensure all expatriates are registered with relevant authorities within the required timeframe after arrival.
  • Track visa validity and ensure renewals are completed proactively to avoid penalties.
  • Arrange and manage residency permits, multiple-entry visas, and related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee passports, visas, and residency status.
  • Notify authorities of any changes in employee residence, status, or departure.
  • Monitor and reduce visa-related penalties and ensure compliance with local laws.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders including travel agencies, hotels, and insurance providers.
  • Support HR operations and participate in HR-related projects as required.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Administration, Public Relations, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in immigration, visa processing, or public office roles
  • Experience in Libya immigration processes is highly preferred
  • Background in HR Operations is an advantage
