Job Overview
The Governance Manager manages a team of governance specialists covering compliance queries, operational risk and controls, process improvement, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor governance specialists and support their personal growth agendas.
- Maintain awareness of policies and procedures and collaborate with customers, Relationship Managers, centers, and compliance teams.
- Act as the main point of contact for the staff segment and coordinate operational support actions.
- Assist the Senior Manager Governance with group and team projects and thematic reviews.
- Engage customers on assigned alerts and remediation tasks using timely and meaningful communication.
- Identify key stakeholders and analyze their needs and expectations.
Skills and Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in banking or financial services managing business risk, operations, policies, and procedures is required.
- Experience managing large teams, knowledge of KYC and financial crime risks, project management skills, and experience with internal risk forums are required.
