About the Role

Responsibilities
- Operate a range of machinery including mowers, aerators, sprayers, and other equipment used in the upkeep of the golf course
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting for wear and tear
- Identify and address minor mechanical issues; escalate major repairs to the Head Mechanic
- Conduct daily course inspections to identify and address maintenance needs
- Assist in the preparation and upkeep of tees, greens, fairways, and roughs to ensure the course meets high standards
- Apply fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines
- Work closely with the golf course superintendent and grounds crew to coordinate maintenance tasks and schedules
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling chemicals
- Maintain accurate records of machinery usage, maintenance, and any incidents or issues encountered
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and advancements in machinery technology
- Assist in training new team members on the proper use and maintenance of equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in machinery operation is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating golf course machinery or similar heavy equipment
- Experience in a luxury or high end golf environment is advantageous
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of golf course machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of turf management practices
