What you’ll be doing

As part of the Governance, Risk and Controls team, the role forms part of Business, Risk and Resources within the LBCM Global Markets business. This role will play a key part in delivering the team's objective of providing a robust, scalable and globally consistent First Line risk framework across Global Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the First Line of Defence subject matter expert for Private Side Business Risk, Operational, Resilience and Model Risk across Global Markets
  • Support the development, maintenance and continuous enhancement of the Global Markets risk and control framework, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, regulatory expectations and governance standards.
  • Lead and coordinate key risk management activities including Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), risk events, issue management, attestations and governance actions.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of key controls, challenge control weaknesses and drive sustainable remediation through root-cause analysis and action tracking.
  • Oversee the management and closure of audit, regulatory and risk actions, ensuring appropriate evidence, governance and traceability.
  • Provide governance and oversight of private side activities, including information barrier, conflicts management and associated conduct risk controls.
  • Maintain oversight of model governance activities, including model inventories, lifecycle requirements, validation findings, approvals and remediation actions.
  • Build strong relationships across Front Office, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Audit functions, influencing sound risk-based decision making while promoting a strong risk and control culture.

What we’re looking for?

Proven experience within First Line Global Markets Risk and Controls or COO

Strong understanding of Global Markets (Sales, Trading, Financing) products, front-to-back trading processes and associated non-financial risks.

Knowledge of relevant regulatory expectations affecting Global Markets, including Model Risk requirements.

Experience managing audit findings, regulatory actions, risk events and remediation programmes.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels of seniority.

Collaborative attitude with the ability to work across business, risk and technology teams.

Self-motivated, proactive and focused on continuous improvement.
