The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy as a GIS I&C Engineer supporting installation, repair, fault elimination, and commissioning of high-voltage switching systems.
The role represents the project in client dealings at installation sites and supports delivery to project deadlines, cost expectations, quality requirements, and site conditions.
Installation and Commissioning
- Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
- Ensure installation requirements, instructions, accident prevention measures, and live-system work guidelines are followed.
- Supervise final installation and commissioning tests and completion documentation.
- Supervise and coordinate loop-check activities and participate in site meetings.
Project Coordination and Control
- Update red-mark drawings and documents with installation changes and modifications.
- Advise sub-supplier installation superintendents on workforce planning and schedule coordination.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on completed and outstanding work status.
- Inspect arriving materials for completeness or damage and coordinate material handling.
- Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within project scope.
Background
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
- 2–5 years of GIS experience is preferred.
- SF6 gas-handling experience and PGHV transmission or sub-transmission GIS product knowledge are preferred.
- Professional use of MS Project is required.
- Spoken and written English proficiency is required.
