Laboratory Testing & Data Analysis
Oversee and/or Perform Atterberg limits,
Sieve analysis, compaction, consolidation, and permeability testing; compile, QC, and interpret field and laboratory data;
Develop subsurface profiles and cross- sections.
Engineering Analysis & Design Support
Develop bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and liquefaction analyses; support foundation and pavement design using software such as gINT, SLOPE/W, and SETTLE3.
Geotechnical Report Preparation
Draft boring logs, figures, cross-sections, and tables;
prepare full geotechnical investigation reports, compaction reports, and construction observation summaries under direction of senior staff.
Construction Observation & Testing
Perform field observation and materials testing during earthwork and foundation activities;
Monitor compaction and field acceptance criteria; prepare daily field reports and document contractor compliance.
Education/Qualifications:
Required: B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (geotechnical focus preferred);
1-3 years of geotechnical experience.
Preferred: M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering; Experience in geotechnical or civil engineering.
Licensure: Current PE license in Nevada or ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire.
Technical Skills:
Soil mechanics and foundation engineering fundamentals;
Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO test standards; proficiency in Microsoft Office;
Experience with gINT, AutoCAD, or GIS a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, traverse uneven terrain.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Professional Engineering license required or ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire
OSHA 30, NAQTC Materials Testing is preferred.
