Responsibilities
- Analyze data collected during site investigations to assess site stability and suitability for construction projects
- Define requirements for ground investigation works and prepare related scope and specification
- Define geotechnical design parameters to be used in the design
- Perform geotechnical calculations and modelling to evaluate bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, lateral earth pressures, and groundwater flow
- Plan, supervise and lead geotechnical investigations and design activities
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures and standards
- Undertake geotechnical assessments using specialized software such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, LPile, PLAXIS 2D and 3D, Pdisp, Repute and Wallap
- Perform soil structure interaction using Plaxis 2D and 3D
- Understand materials testing objectives, construction drawings and design reports
- Analyze and prepare recommendations and GIR reports for projects relating to foundation design, infrastructure, shoring, retaining walls, slope stability, road structure design, and materials testing
Requirements
- BS or MS in Geotechnical Engineering
- Very good understanding of drilling methods, field investigations, and laboratory testing procedures
- 5 to 6 years work experience as a Geotechnical Engineer within Middle East
- Appropriate experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, site supervision and administration
- Registered with ICE as chartered engineer is preferred
- Ability to work in a team or individually
- Exceptional attention to detail

Overview
- We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join AtkinsRéalis' team in Dubai, UAE.
- The ideal candidate is an emerging professional with working knowledge of soils mechanics, Soil structure interaction, reporting and typical construction practices within the Middle East region.
Your Role
- Analyze the data collected during site investigations to assess the stability and suitability of the site for construction projects.
- Define the requirement for the ground investigation works and prepare the related scope and specification.
- Define geotechnical design parameters to be used in the design.
- Perform geotechnical calculations and modelling to evaluate factors such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, lateral earth pressures, and groundwater flow.
- Plan, supervise (if required) and lead geotechnical investigations and design activities.

About You
