About the Role
NMDC Infra is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer to support geotechnical design, site supervision, soil investigation interpretation, and foundation design. The role involves analyzing geotechnical data, preparing reports, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
- Interpret and manage geotechnical investigation data (e.g., borehole logs, CPT, laboratory results) to support engineering assessments, soil classification, and design recommendations
- Identify patterns, anomalies, and variability in subsurface conditions across project sites, contributing to risk assessments and mitigation planning
- Review geotechnical investigation data, laboratory test results, and field test outputs; prepare borehole logs, soil parameter summaries, idealized soil profiles, and basic geotechnical calculations
- Collect, clean, and validate geotechnical field and laboratory data to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Identify opportunities for leveraging department data to drive business solutions
- Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive continual optimization and improvement business strategies
- Contribute to project documentation and data archiving by maintaining organized records
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
- Ensure compliance with geotechnical standards and specifications such as ASTM, BS, or local authority requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely receipt and integration of investigation data
- Foundation design, including bearing capacity and settlement assessments; support design and review of shoring systems, secant pile walls, anchors, Waller beams, and dewatering systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, with academic focus or project experience in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, or ground improvement
- More than 5 to 8 years of Geotechnical Experience combining practical and field experience
- Exposure to geotechnical design, site supervision, excavation support, shoring, dewatering, and foundation systems is preferred
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering software such as WALLAP, GEO5, Settle3D, PLAXIS 2D, AutoCAD, SAP, ETABS, or SAFE is desirable
- Strong Excel capability for processing and presenting laboratory and field test results is required
- Good communication, teamwork, problem solving, research, and time management skills

Qualifications

- Working knowledge of relevant engineering software such as WALLAP, GEO5, Settle3D, PLAXIS 2D, AutoCAD, SAP, ETABS, or SAFE is desirable.
