Geoscience Intern - Summer 2027

Hunt Oil Company (HOC) began as a small family-owned business and has expanded into a well-respected oil and gas industry leader.

Today, the Company operates 120,000 net acres across the Williston Basin in North Dakota.

The Company has remained a driving force in North Dakota’s oil and gas sector for more than twenty years.

In recent years, HOC has been a major player in the unconventional area, participating as an early entrant in several of the premier oil and gas shale plays in the United States.

Internationally, the Company holds a 25.2% non‐operated interest in Peru’s Camisea region and has maintained a presence in Kurdistan since the early 2000s.

In addition to its oil and gas operations, Hunt Oil participates in global LNG development, with production facilities operating in Peru since 2010 and in Yemen since 2009.

We are currently seeking a Geologist Intern for the Western Region Subsurface department located in our Dallas, TX office.

This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed.

Subsurface geological interpretation of the Williston Basin, ND & MT, focusing on the mixed carbonate Bakken-Three Forks Fms.

Student will perform geological tasks related to exploration and development of unconventional resources within a cross-discipline team.

Such tasks will include petrophysical analysis, structural and stratigraphic mapping, creation of development plans, and data science analyses.

If the opportunity presents, student will experience geosteering/drilling operations.

• Pursuing a Thesis-Option master’s in Geoscience
• Minimum of 3.0 grade point average

• Currently pursuing a thesis-option Master’s in geoscience
• Proficiency in ArcGIS or other mapping software
• Strong understanding of stratigraphy and sedimentology
• Data science experience, preferred
• Petrophysics/well log analysis, preferred

• Computer literacy
• Pattern recognition and logic problem solving
• Listening acuity and attention to detail in work product
• Excellent work ethic
• Presentation and communication skills are a must
• Ability to work in an integrated, multidisciplinary team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks & areas of responsibility concurrently
