Drilling Engineer Intern - Summer 2027

Hunt Oil Company (HOC) began as a small family-owned business and has expanded into a well-respected oil and gas industry leader.

Today, the Company operates 120,000 net acres across the Williston Basin in North Dakota.

The Company has remained a driving force in North Dakota’s oil and gas sector for more than twenty years.

Internationally, the Company holds a 25.2% non‐operated interest in Peru’s Camisea region and has maintained a presence in Kurdistan since the early 2000s.

In addition to its oil and gas operations, Hunt Oil participates in global LNG development, with production facilities operating in Peru since 2010 and in Yemen since 2009.

We are currently seeking a Petroleum Engineer Intern for the Well Construction department located in our Dallas, TX office.

This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed.

The intern will work on multiple well construction projects associated with Hunt's operated Bakken (unconventional) assets.

• Report Preparation: Help prepare detailed reports on drilling activities, including daily progress, equipment performance, and any encountered issues.
• Field Visits: Participate in field visits to drilling sites to gain hands-on experience and understand the practical aspects of drilling operations.
• Software Utilization: Learn and utilize industry-specific software for modeling and simulation of drilling operations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and team members to ensure smooth and efficient drilling operations.
• Budgeting: Participate in the development of short- and long-term objectives and capital and expense budgets, ensuring compatibility with and support of overall company goals and objectives.
• Engineering: Engineer, design, and technically support operational execution of new well drilling projects. In consultation with completion engineers, design and construct safe and efficient wells for completions, workovers, and stimulations.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing data from drilling operations to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

• Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree or master’s in petroleum engineering
• Minimum of 3.0 grade point average

• Previous internship experience preferred
• Extracurricular activities are a plus
• Presentation and communication skills are a must
• Ability to communicate with field personnel and technical staff

• Self-motivated, proactive, and safety-conscious

• Ability to manage multiple tasks & areas of responsibility concurrently
