Job Summary
The employer is seeking a qualified Geologist to join its Engineering Laboratory.
The role covers geotechnical investigations, soil and rock testing, interpretation of laboratory and field data, and preparation of technical reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct soil, rock, and aggregate investigations for civil and infrastructure projects.
- Supervise and interpret soil classification, compaction, shear strength, and CBR tests.
- Review borehole logs, trial pits, and field investigation data.
- Prepare geotechnical and geological reports with findings and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with local authority standards.
- Coordinate with laboratory technicians, site teams, and project engineers.
- Assist with foundation recommendations, earthworks, and material suitability assessments.
- Maintain documentation, test records, and quality control procedures.
- Support audits and laboratory accreditation requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology is required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a civil engineering or geotechnical laboratory is required.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and construction materials is required.
