General Technician

Company Description

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel.
• Inspect and maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and other hotel equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, lighting, sockets, switches, and basic electrical systems.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs involving leaks, taps, toilets, and drainage issues.
• Assist with air-conditioning and ventilation system maintenance.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to the hotel maintenance schedule.
• Maintain equipment in guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, back-of-house areas, and staff facilities.
• Report major faults to the Engineering Supervisor or Director of Engineering.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and completed task logs.
• Follow hotel safety, health, hygiene, and environmental procedures.
• Assist contractors and specialist technicians, respond to breakdowns, and keep the workshop organized.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a similar engineering role.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance problems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Safety-conscious approach and ability to follow hotel procedures.
• Technical or vocational certification is advantageous.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
