We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Dovegate. HMP Dovegate is a category B remand Prison located in Staffordshire. The prison houses patients with a variety of needs, including a number of patients with long term conditions and complex health needs. Within this role you will be working on reception, support with urgent same day medication, duty doctor referrals, leavers medication and substance misuse withdraw programmes. You will work closely with the nursing team and non-medical prescribers to deliver high quality healthcare services.
Working 23 hours a week, including one Saturday in 3.
Working on a 3-week rolling rota, there is an expectation to work 2 long days a week.
Mon / Tues / Wed & Thurs: 08:00 – 20:00
Sat: 12:00 – 16:00

MBChB or MBBS
Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
Evidence of continuing professional development
Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
Independent provider of health services to the NHS.
