As a General Labourer , you will remove unwanted materials from metal parts, castings, and other products to ensure a smooth surface, preparing parts for paint.

These parts are used in the assembly of equipment that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry.

Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm – 1:00am, Monday – Thursday

Shift Premium: $3.00/hour for afternoons

Job Duties

Read and interpret work orders, following the production schedule to ensure parts are prepared for painting in the order in which they are needed
Clean, sand, and prepare parts for painting, achieving quality standards for parts
Operate metal cleaning equipment, such as scrapers and grinders, to remove excess welds, scale, and other materials from the surface of metal parts, castings, and other metal products
Immerse metal products in cleaning solvents and solutions
Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib), to transport raw materials and finished metal products
Clean the paint prep and paint booth areas

Skills And Experience

Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and manage frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and conscientiousness to work independently with minimal supervision
Finishing tasks requires collaboration with team members; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects involving multiple team members
Physical requirements include standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching, gripping, and pinching
