General Laborer

Thomas is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to support daily facilities operations across campus.

This role is responsible for setting up and breaking down spaces for university events, moving furniture and equipment, and providing general assistance to skilled trades staff (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).

The ideal candidate is a team player who can perform physically demanding work safely and efficiently while representing the university in a professional manner.

• Set up and tear down tables, chairs, staging, and equipment for university events, meetings, conferences, and ceremonies
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials within and between campus buildings
• Provide general labor support to tradespeople during maintenance, repair, and construction projects
• Load and unload delivery trucks and transport materials using hand trucks, dollies, or other equipment
• Assist with minor building maintenance tasks as directed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
