Position Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to multiple scaffold crews through foreman supervisors.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily scaffold erection, modification, inspection, maintenance, and dismantling activities.
- Ensure all scaffold work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, company policies, OSHA requirements, and industry standards.
- Review scaffold drawings, designs, work packages, and project requirements to ensure proper execution of work.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and work schedules to meet project goals and customer requirements.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance of assigned scaffold crews.
- Perform routine jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and scaffold inspection standards.
- Work closely with project management, engineering, safety personnel, quality control, and other crafts to support project execution and resolve field issues.
- Assist with workforce planning, employee development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Identify and resolve field issues including safety concerns, material shortages, access challenges, scaffold design conflicts, and constructability concerns.
- Participate in planning meetings, safety meetings, coordination activities, and client interface meetings as required.
- Ensure proper documentation of scaffold inspections, work progress, manpower reports, and production tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Must have extensive knowledge of industrial scaffolding practices, materials, equipment, erection methods, and dismantling procedures.
- Must be able to read and interpret scaffold drawings, designs, specifications, and construction documents.
- Must possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must have thorough knowledge of OSHA scaffold regulations, fall protection requirements, and industry best practices.
- Must have basic computer skills and the ability to complete reports and documentation.
- Must be able to identify, evaluate, and resolve field construction issues while maintaining schedule and quality requirements.
- Must have a thorough understanding of construction safety requirements, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
- Must be able to effectively coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying industrial environments as required.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.
- Previous experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- NCCER Scaffold Builder Certification, Competent Person Scaffold Certification, or equivalent scaffold-related certification.
- Experience on large industrial, refining, petrochemical, power, LNG, or manufacturing construction projects.
- Additional supervisory, leadership, safety, or craft-related certifications.
Reporting To
This position is responsible for multiple scaffold crews led by foreman supervisors in their daily work activities. May manage four or more crews, each consisting of approximately 5 to 15 employees. Foremen directly report to the Scaffold General Foreman, who is responsible for overall coordination, productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance of assigned scaffold operations.
Physical Requirements
- Employees will be required to engage in extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, sitting, and lifting.
- Will talk and hear to communicate effectively with crews, supervisors, and other personnel.
- Will use arms and hands to handle scaffold materials, tools, equipment, and perform work-related tasks.
- May be required to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work from scaffolds, platforms, and elevated structures while utilizing required fall protection.
- May be required to work in confined spaces and other challenging industrial environments.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and wind, while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, high-visibility vests, gloves, full-body harnesses, lanyards, and steel-toed work boots.
- Must be capable of climbing scaffold structures and accessing elevated work areas throughout the workday while maintaining compliance with all fall protection requirements.
