General Accountant

Job Title: Accountant

• We are looking for a General Accountant who can manage the financial operations of our Company (Engineering consultancy), ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and effective financial management.
• The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, VAT filing, and supporting the Management with budgeting and financial analysis**.**
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct variance analysis to support management in decision-making.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Process payment to the vendors/suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions in compliance with company policies.
• Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely closing of accounts.
• Process employee payroll and ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and of KSA.
• Handle payroll deductions, end-of-service benefits, and gratuities.
• Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UAE regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Provide financial insights and support to the Finance Manager and other departments.
• Engage in cash flow management and monitor financial performance of the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the engineering or consultancy / construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and UAE VAT laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) and MS Excel a must.
