Gap Year Programme

We’re here to share the joy of Watergate Bay for everyone, now and for the future, and our Discovery Programme has been designed to give you a true, hands-on experience of Watergate Bay Hotel life.

You’ll move across departments, build practical skills, and gain an understanding of how a busy hotel operates.

Our Discovery Programme offers a structured, multi-department placement designed to build skills and experience and supports you to carve a clear career path for your future. It is expected to commence in September.

A curiosity to learn, get involved, and develop skills

The ability to work as part of a team

Previous experience in a customer-facing environment (preferred but not essential)

Housekeeping (2 months)

Learn the fundamentals of Housekeeping

Spend time as a Housekeeping Assistant and Porter

Sharpen your skills by shadowing a Self-Checker and Supervisor

Food and Beverage (3 months)

Accrue essential service skills across a variety of restaurants and bars

Equip yourself with the skills to thrive in fast-paced culinary environments

Develop a true understanding of outstanding guest service
