- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and design briefs
- Select appropriate materials and measure, cut, assemble, and install furniture pieces
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform framing, joinery, and finish carpentry
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production teams to translate creative concepts into functional furniture
- Maintain safety standards and meet project deadlines
- Perform routine maintenance of tools and workspace
- Conduct quality checks on finished products
- Occasional on site installations at client locations or event venues
Requirements
- Strong Carpentry skills, including reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing custom furniture and fixtures
- Proficiency with Hand Tools and Power Tools commonly used in furniture production
- Experience in Framing and structural woodworking techniques
- Skilled in Finish Carpentry, including sanding, fitting, detailing, and applying finishes
- Previous experience as a furniture carpenter, joiner, or cabinet maker
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and design specifications
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to workplace safety standards

Role Description
- The Furniture Carpenter is a full time, on site role based in Sajaa, responsible for producing high quality custom furniture and fixtures that support the agency’s creative projects and client campaigns.
- Day to day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and design briefs, selecting appropriate materials, and measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing furniture pieces.
- The role involves using a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform framing, joinery, and finish carpentry, ensuring precise craftsmanship and durable construction.
- The Furniture Carpenter will collaborate with designers, project managers, and production teams to translate creative concepts into functional, aesthetically pleasing furniture, while maintaining safety standards and meeting project deadlines.
- The role also includes routine maintenance of tools and workspace, quality checks on finished products, and occasional on site installations at client locations or event venues.
Qualifications
- Strong Carpentry skills, including reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing custom furniture and fixtures.
- Proficiency with Hand Tools and Power Tools commonly used in furniture production, with a focus on safe and efficient operation.
- Experience in Framing and structural woodworking techniques to ensure stable, durable furniture builds.
- Skilled in Finish Carpentry, including sanding, fitting, detailing, and applying finishes for high quality, client ready pieces.
- Previous experience as a furniture carpenter, joiner, or cabinet maker in a workshop, fabrication studio, or similar environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and design specifications, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to safely handle materials and equipment in a workshop setting.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with designers, production teams, and project managers.
- Commitment to workplace safety standards and proper maintenance of tools and machinery.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in carpentry or woodworking is an advantage; experience in advertising, events, or interior fit out environments is a plus.
