Functional Consultant, SD

The Functional Analyst, SD (Sales and Distribution) is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the SAP SD module to meet business needs across sales order processing, billing, distribution, and customer service. The role requires deep expertise in the SD module and its underlying business processes, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, enhance system efficiency, support project implementations, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with local and international sales regulations.

SAP SD Module Configuration & Support

Configure and optimize the SAP SD module, covering key functionalities including sales orders, pricing, billing, shipping, credit management, and returns processing.

Ensure seamless integration of the SD module with other SAP modules such as MM (Materials Management), FI (Financial Accounting), and PP (Production Planning).

Implement system enhancements and modifications to streamline order-to-cash processes in alignment with business goals.

Sales & Distribution Process Automation

Work closely with sales, logistics, and customer service teams to understand business requirements and design SAP SD solutions that improve order fulfillment, delivery, and billing processes.

Identify opportunities for process automation and digitalization within sales and distribution workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

Continuously review and refine SD module configuration to adapt to evolving business needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with other SAP module consultants (FI, MM, WM, PP) to ensure seamless integration of SD processes with other business functions.

Coordinate with the Senior Manager, ERP and business stakeholders to ensure the SD module supports overall business objectives, with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Issue Resolution & Support

Provide functional support for SAP SD, handling day-to-day user issues, troubleshooting problems, and minimizing disruption to sales and distribution operations.

Manage incident resolution and collaborate with the IT support team to address technical issues related to the SD module.

Ensure timely resolution of system-related challenges to meet business requirements.

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

Ensure SAP SD configurations comply with local sales regulations in KSA, including VAT, export/import regulations, and customer billing requirements.

Work with finance and audit teams to ensure SD processes adhere to internal controls, compliance, and audit standards.

Keep the system updated with changes in local and international sales regulations.

End User Training & Documentation

Develop and deliver user training for sales and distribution teams to ensure effective use of SAP SD functionalities.

Maintain detailed documentation of all configuration changes, enhancements, and issue resolutions within the SAP SD module.

Create user guides, training materials, and system documentation to support ongoing business operations.

Project Management & Upgrades

Participate in SAP SD implementation projects, version upgrades, and rollouts, ensuring successful delivery within project timelines and budgets.

Conduct system testing, data migration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new functionalities, configurations, and module upgrades.

Manage the SAP SD lifecycle, ensuring smooth transitions between project phases and post-go-live support.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Reports

Contribute to the development of IT policies, systems, processes, and procedures to ensure consistent application and ease of operations.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.

SAP SD certification is preferred.

Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in SAP SD module configuration and support.
