Position Overview
This role ensures that aviation fuel meets strict international and GACA quality standards before it is delivered to aircraft.
Responsibilities include fuel sampling, laboratory testing, monitoring contamination risks (such as water or particulates), and ensuring compliance with aviation fuel specifications and GACA quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring aviation fuel meets international and GACA quality standards
- Conducting fuel sampling at receipt, storage, and delivery points
- Performing laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with GACA requirements
- Monitoring contamination risks including water and particulates
- Ensuring compliance with ASTM D1655, DEF STAN 91-91, JIG standards, and GACA specifications
- Managing fuel quality documentation and certificates for GACA inspections
- Investigating fuel quality incidents and non-conformances
- Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment to GACA standards
- Training staff on fuel quality procedures and GACA requirements
- Coordinating with fuel suppliers on quality issues
- Maintaining quality assurance records for GACA audits
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fuel quality control or laboratory analysis
- Thorough knowledge of aviation fuel specifications and GACA standards
- Experience with fuel testing equipment and laboratory procedures
- Understanding of JIG standards, GACA quality requirements, and quality assurance protocols
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
- Ability to identify and resolve quality issues
