Position Summary
The Framing Deck Operator Helper assists the Framing Deck Operator with the safe and efficient operation of equipment used to process and handle poles in a pole mill production environment. This position supports the movement, positioning, framing, measuring, and preparation of poles while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, physically capable of performing industrial work, and willing to learn mill equipment and production procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Framing Deck Operator with daily production activities.
- Help load, position, align, and move poles on the framing deck.
- Assist with measuring, marking, framing, and preparing poles according to production specifications.
- Monitor poles and materials as they move through the production process.
- Help operate or assist with machinery and hand tools as directed and after proper training.
- Inspect poles for visible defects, damage, or processing issues and report concerns to the operator or supervisor.
- Keep the framing deck, equipment, and surrounding work area clean and free of debris.
- Assist with removing scrap wood, bark, and other waste materials from the production area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, PPE requirements, and equipment operating procedures.
