- Ensure system operates while disconnected and reconciles on reconnect without human intervention
Requirements
- Must demonstrate consistency models (strong, causal, eventual) and CAP/PACELC tradeoffs
- Must have implemented CRDTs from first principles
- Must have built a sync engine, collaborative editing system, offline first app, replicated datastore, or database
- Must be senior level with end to end ownership of a hard consistency problem
- Must have public CRDT/sync/distributed code to review

Role Overview

Required Skills
- Consistency models — strong / causal / eventual; CAP / PACELC tradeoffs
- CRDTs — implemented from first principles, reasoning about convergence
- Causality — logical, vector, and hybrid logical clocks; conflict resolution
- Event sourcing and append only operation log design
- Sync / anti entropy / replication protocols, built end to end
- Offline first / local first architecture — state that runs and converges while disconnected
- Evidence of having built one of: a sync engine, a collaborative editing system, an offline first app that reconciles, a replicated datastore, or a database
- Speaks fluently about eventual / causal consistency and CAP / PACELC
- Familiar with Automerge, Yjs, ElectricSQL, or similar; ex database or collaborative software
- Senior — has owned a hard consistency problem end to end
- Public CRDT / sync / distributed code to review
