Foundation Equipment Operator (Oncor)

The Foundation Equipment Operator is responsible for operating specialized equipment to support foundation construction for utility power infrastructure, including transmission towers, poles, and substations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and precise operation of machinery while adhering to engineering specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Equipment Operation: Operate drilling rigs, augers, pile drivers, excavators, and other foundation-related equipment. Perform excavation, drilling, and soil stabilization for deep foundations and anchor systems.

Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA and company safety protocols, including pre-operation checks and safe operating procedures. Participate in daily safety meetings and report hazards or incidents immediately.

Maintenance & Inspection: Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment (lubrication, fueling, cleaning). Report mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Work Coordination: Collaborate with Foreman and crew to ensure proper sequencing of tasks and efficient workflow. Assist with site preparation and material handling as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
