The role
The Forward Deployed Engineer turns complex enterprise workflows into AI agents that work in real-world environments.
The role operates across engineering, product, and customer delivery by embedding with enterprise teams and building practical solutions.
Engineers lead projects from discovery through production deployment, then measure impact and iterate.
What you will do
- Embed with customers to understand workflows, constraints, and success measures.
- Convert ambiguous operational problems into technical plans and production systems.
- Design and build AI agents integrated with customer tools, data, and business processes.
- Own deployments from prototype through launch, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Use real-world data and business outcomes to guide testing and iteration.
- Balance architecture, reliability, speed, and user experience trade-offs.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to improve the core platform.
- Create reusable tools, patterns, and best practices from deployment learnings.
What we are looking for
- At least 5 years of experience building software or solving complex technical problems.
- Strong foundations in software architecture, system design, and production engineering.
- Experience with APIs, integrations, data flows, and distributed systems.
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems and create momentum.
- Confidence working with operational and technical customer stakeholders.
- Clear communication, sound judgment, and strong ownership.
- Curiosity about applied AI and its impact on business operations.
Nice to have
- Experience in forward-deployed, solutions engineering, consulting, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Experience building AI agents, workflow automation, or conversational systems.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation, observability, and production reliability.
- Experience deploying and improving systems in complex enterprise environments.
