The Opportunity

The Food Safety Officer supports food safety and hygiene across a luxury hospitality and food production operation.

The position includes a fixed monthly salary of AED 3,600.

The role requires ownership of food safety standards, documentation, training, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

Food Safety Operations

  • Maintain sanitation and government-certification documentation across dining concepts and kitchen areas.
  • Create, implement, and update food safety policies and procedures according to local regulations and international standards.
  • Conduct inspections and audits of food preparation, storage, kitchen, dining, and catering facilities.
  • Develop checklists, cleaning schedules, and inspection protocols and address identified non-compliance.

HACCP and Suppliers

  • Establish and maintain HACCP systems covering hazard analysis, critical control points, monitoring procedures, and accurate records.
  • Conduct regular HACCP reviews and train food and beverage teams on HACCP principles.
  • Validate supplier compliance, review certifications and audit records, conduct supplier audits, and maintain approved-supplier records.

Incidents, Audits, and Reporting

  • Develop incident-response protocols and investigate food safety incidents or outbreaks with prompt reporting to relevant authorities.
  • Work with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits and address findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare management reports on key metrics, trends, findings, corrective actions, and improvement areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of food safety records and information.

Training and Team Support

  • Conduct theoretical and practical food safety training with department heads and prepare training materials.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and provide ongoing guidance to team members on food safety questions and challenges.
  • Support productivity, teamwork, safety compliance, and continuous improvement in hotel food operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, food safety, environmental health, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a food safety and hygiene department within a luxury five-star hotel group.
  • At least five years of experience in the hospitality and food production industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, inspections, audits, risk assessment, and food safety programs.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in food safety management systems such as HACCP or ISO 22000 is highly preferred.
  • Additional languages such as Arabic and Hindi are advantageous.
