Monday to Friday roster with 7.6 hours worked between 7:00am and 5:00pm
Permanent full-time position

Based at the Coates Cambridge branch, you’ll play a key role in keeping our hire fleet safe, reliable and ready for customers. This is a hands-on mechanical role suited to someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and taking pride in maintaining high-performing equipment.
What you’ll be doing day to day
Your typical day will focus on:
Performing preventative maintenance, servicing and overhauls on a wide range of hire equipment
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults efficiently and safely
Completing and maintaining accurate service and repair records
Working proactively to minimise operational downtime
Ensuring all work complies with Coates safety and quality standards
Close collaboration with operations, service and customer-facing teams to support equipment availability and a high level of customer satisfaction

What you’ll bring to the role
Relevant trade qualifications ( [e.g. Mechanical, Diesel, Plant Mechanic] )
Experience with:
Petrol and diesel engines
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Basic electrical fault finding
Current Driver’s Licence (MR or HR preferred)
Forklift and EWP tickets (beneficial, not essential)
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
A safety-first mindset and a commitment to quality work
