Position Overview
Develop firmware for spacecraft ADCS components, including reaction wheels, star trackers, and torque rods.
Contribute to the full firmware development cycle from hardware bring-up through validation in a deep-tech aerospace environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firmware for ADCS hardware components.
- Assist with embedded firmware bring-up, integration, and testing on spacecraft subsystems.
- Write and debug low-level embedded code for microcontrollers used in space-grade hardware.
- Support hardware-software integration testing and document firmware behavior against hardware specifications.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to validate sensor interfaces and communication protocols.
- Contribute to version control, code reviews, and firmware documentation.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis during component testing and qualification.
Must-Have Criteria
- 0–1 year of firmware or embedded systems development experience, including academic projects.
- Hands-on microcontroller project experience through coursework, personal projects, or club projects.
- Working knowledge of C for embedded or firmware development.
- Exposure to I2C, SPI, UART, or CAN communication protocols.
