Role Description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the company’s core accounting and treasury operations, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance as the business scales.

This role is hands-on and requires building and improving processes, systems, and controls in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and management of audits
  • Development and maintenance of strong financial controls and governance frameworks
  • Oversight of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Cash flow management and working capital optimisation
  • Ensuring compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
  • Supporting system implementations and process automation initiatives
  • Partnering with leadership to provide reliable financial insights

Desired Experience

  • Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a start-up, scale-up, or high-growth environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS/US GAAP)
  • Experience managing audits and working with external advisors
  • Track record of improving financial processes and controls
  • Experience with finance systems (e.g., ERP implementation or optimisation)
  • Prior team management experience is a plus
