Role Overview

Financial Management and Reporting

• Ensure the company can predictably forecast its cash position by maintaining daily knowledge of cash and profit results.
• Maintain internal controls that accurately and securely account for financial assets.
• Ensure regulatory reporting and payment requirements are completed.
• Manage accounting processes that provide timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Complete monthly reports for management and the parent company, AUO, within required timelines.

Audit and Process Improvement

• Manage the relationship with auditors and ensure the annual audit or review is completed with a clean opinion.
• Resolve discrepancies identified through audits by improving existing processes and implementing new processes.
• Lead the continuous improvement of accounting tactics and processes.

Team Leadership

• Lead the accounting team and ensure each team member understands quarterly objectives and critical numbers.
• Build a culture of trust, candor, transparency, growth, learning, empowerment, performance, and accountability.
• Manage team performance and support meaningful progress when performance gaps arise.
• Work at a senior level while assisting with transaction-level detail as required.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation.

Experience and Knowledge

• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience as a Controller.
• 2+ years of experience working for a SaaS company in a leadership role.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes and internal and external audits.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
• Understanding of tax compliance and regulatory requirements across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
• Knowledge of internal controls and processes.
• Experience managing staff and willingness to work at a senior level while assisting with transaction-level detail.
• Proficiency with NetSuite ERP, advanced Excel, and strong oral and written communication.
