RJCHC Clinics, Supports & Services is a portfolio within McMaster Children's Hospital.
It is comprised of many different programs providing outpatient services to children (and some adults) with developmental, emotional or behavioural, physical or communication needs.
The Audiology service offers a full spectrum of identification, diagnostic, and rehabilitative services to patients of all ages and conditions.
Support is also provided to a busy ENT clinic.
The service also operates a for-profit Hearing Aid Dispensary.
The program is committed to continuous learning and quality improvement.
Assisting clients in securing third party funding for devices is an important task that falls within the role of financial assistant.
The financial assistant is responsible for working with the clinician and client to create accurate cost estimates and for the timely processing of invoices to multiple payers, where clients have received hearing devices and/or services from the Audiology Hearing Aid Dispensary.
Billing for clinic visits (self pay and other).
Much communication occurs with team members, other hospital departments, clients and their respective agents and outside funding sources.
Monday to Friday days, some evenings and/or weekends
This position is temporary until March 2027
Graduate of Community College Business Administration or Accounting program, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2.
A minimum of two years current, related experience. 3.
Preference will be shown to applicants with previous experience in acquiring 3rd party funding assistance or adjudication. 4.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Word, Excel, Meditech, Hearware. 5.
Demonstrated excellence in effective written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills within a professional environment. 6.
Demonstrated effective problem-solving abilities. 7.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, with excellent organization skills. 8.
Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize and establish priorities. 9.
Demonstrated ability to appreciate confidential nature of position. 10.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. 11.
