Key Responsibilities
- Undertake practical field work, including sample collection and on-site testing.
- Perform analytical work at client sites, including operation of client instruments and chemical analysis in line with procedures.
- Conduct occupational health and hygiene monitoring, site inspections and testing.
- Prepare reagents, perform laboratory testing, analyse samples and compile reports.
- Maintain field and laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Register samples, document results and complete required reporting.
- Liaise with clients before, during and after site visits to coordinate access and understand job requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safe and compliant sampling and testing activities.
- Comply with all client safety, environmental and housekeeping requirements while on site.
Travel Requirements
- Travel within Sydney several times per week.
- Intrastate/interstate travel several times per month.
- Occasional overseas travel within the APAC region may be required.
- Role primarily based at the Alexandria laboratory, with major client sites in Botany, NSW.
About You
Tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific discipline and/or experience in environmental, chemical or petrochemical industries.
Experience conducting practical field sampling and site-based testing.
Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel and work additional hours when required.
Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 17025 / NATA accreditation.
Experience in occupational hygiene monitoring is desirable.
Experience with GC-MS, HPLC, UV-Vis, IR, AAS or ICP is advantageous.
