Job Overview
The Field Specialist II – Fishing Services ISDT performs field operations for fishing and specialized downhole services using established techniques, procedures, and operational criteria.
The role supports job planning, tool and equipment preparation, mobilization, execution, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting.
The Field Specialist II works with a higher level of independence than entry-level specialists and serves as a key interface with clients at the well site.
The role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service while complying with Weatherford's HSE, quality, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and safety activities.
- Plan and prepare fishing and ISDT tools, equipment, materials, and accessories for field operations.
- Mobilize equipment and personnel and ensure job readiness before deployment to the well site.
- Test, operate, maintain, assemble, and disassemble fishing and downhole tools according to approved procedures and competency level.
- Execute assigned fishing and ISDT operations safely and efficiently with appropriate supervision.
- Monitor and analyze operational data and identify potential issues or abnormal conditions.
- Support troubleshooting of fishing tools, downhole equipment, and operational problems.
- Prepare and submit complete job documentation, including job reports, WPTS entries, observation cards, service tickets, logs, and other required records.
- Maintain equipment, facilities, tools, and work areas in safe and presentable condition.
- Manage inventory and supplies required at the well site.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and support superior service quality.
- Follow up equipment failures with the R&M team and support closure of failure reports.
- Participate in equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Perform engineering or operational checks within the scope of training and competence.
- Support and provide guidance to junior field personnel when required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, field crews, Operations, R&M, and other internal stakeholders.
- Remain available on a 24-hour call basis to respond to customer and operational requirements.
- Ensure all activities comply with Weatherford's HSE policies, Management System, Rules to Live By, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain financial responsibility by controlling field expenses and operating within approved budgets.
- Complete required technical, compliance, and business training and continuously develop technical skills.
- Perform other duties and activities safely as assigned by the supervisor within the physical requirements of the role.
Skills
- Knowledge of Fishing Services and ISDT/downhole operations.
- Practical understanding of fishing tools, specialized downhole equipment, and well intervention operations.
- Fundamentals of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
- Ability to operate, test, assemble, disassemble, and maintain tools and machinery.
- Ability to identify operational problems and understand or escalate appropriate solutions.
- Basic ability to interpret operational data and technical information.
- Critical thinking, active learning, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Good reading, writing, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Sound judgment and decision-making in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Time management and ability to prioritize multiple field activities.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- High School Diploma required.
- Technical Certificate from an accredited Technical/Vocational School preferred.
- Technical exposure to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or downhole equipment is preferred.
- Previous exposure to fishing, well intervention, or specialized downhole tools is advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to work in field and wellsite environments and respond to operational requirements.
- Ability to complete required Weatherford technical, HSE, compliance, and competency training.
