WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support the installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and commissioning of reciprocating engines and compressors at customer sites.
- Assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, minor repairs, equipment rebuilds, and overhaul activities.
- Develop proficiency in the safe and proper use of basic hand tools, large hand tools, torquing devices, and related field equipment.
- Learn to use OEM manuals to identify parts, procedures, tolerances, and specifications.
- Perform basic measurements and accurately record inspection and maintenance information in required documentation.
- Monitor equipment condition and performance, communicate observations, and assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and continuous technical development while working in a highly travel-intensive field environment.
WHO YOU ARE
Mechanically inclined with an interest in engines, compressors, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery.
Possess foundational mechanical skills and the ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
Comfortable learning technical procedures, reading manuals, and following detailed instructions.
Able to perform basic math calculations, including fractions and decimals.
Willing and able to travel approximately 80% and work at customer locations as business needs require.
Safety-minded, dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in industrial field environments.
Able to work effectively as part of a field service team, take directions from experienced technicians and leaders, and develop the technical skills necessary to progress through Cooper’s Field Service career path.
PREFERRED
Previous mechanical, diesel, engine, compressor, industrial, automotive, agricultural, or related hands-on experience.
