SIG is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support filling machine lines and customer operations.
The role involves customer-site service, maintenance, troubleshooting, technical support, and equipment optimization.
Key responsibilities
- Service and maintain filling machine lines at customer sites while considering commercial conditions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize machinery performance to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
- Perform inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
- Prepare technical reports, document customer complaints, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customer staff.
- Order and manage spare parts with customer approval.
- Implement modifications and upgrades to improve equipment efficiency.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of filling lines.
- Follow safety protocols and quality standards during service activities.
- Prepare visit and troubleshooting reports, including SOPs.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring issues.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required, preferably in Mechatronics, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
- Three to five years of hands-on vocational experience in technical service roles is required.
- Proven field service experience with extensive customer interaction is required.
- Five to six years of experience in the aseptic industry and/or food sector is preferred.
- Three to five years of leadership experience in technical field operations is preferred.
Skills and expertise
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics, electromechanics, automation, instrumentation, and controls.
- Technical expertise in aseptic technology is preferred, with a mechanical and electrical background in food filling machines and packaging lines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate information from multiple sources.
- High-level technical reporting skills, including troubleshooting reports and SOPs.
- Proficiency with service apps for data collection and accurate recordkeeping.
- Advanced English proficiency is required; Arabic is an advantage.
Work setting
- The role is primarily performed at customer sites and includes field service activities.
