ABOUT THE ROLE

The Field Operations Technician is a hands-on, highly mobile role that keeps our client retail locations running. You will be the person who shows up, figures it out, and gets it done — whether that means mounting security cameras, assembling fixtures, pulling cable, patching drywall, setting up a new POS terminal, or driving three hours to our next location with a van full of equipment.

This role is approximately 60% handyman, IT, and general installation work, 40% driving and field travel. You will work directly alongside our two IT Field Technicians and report to the Director of Corporate Operations.

If you are resourceful, physically capable, comfortable with tools and tech, and enjoy variety in your work — this role is for you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Technology & Construction Support (Supporting Role)
  • Assist IT Field Technicians with installation of cameras, access control, alarm systems, networking equipment, and POS hardware
  • Run ethernet, connect network hardware, and verify basic connectivity
  • Troubleshoot basic technology issues at retail locations; escalate complex issues to the IT team
  • Learn new systems and techniques through hands-on experience and self-directed research
  • Perform installations across retail locations: wall mounts, shelving, cabinetry, drawers, furniture, and fixtures
  • Complete basic drywall patching, painting, and light exterior work including signage
  • Support store setups, refreshes, and remodel projects
  • Pull and route low-voltage cabling for technology and security systems
  • Work in a range of physical conditions including tight spaces, overhead environments, and confined areas
  • Identify facility issues and escalate repairs as needed
  • Driving & Field Travel
  • Operate a company-provided van to transport equipment and materials statewide
  • Travel primarily to Twin Cities metro and southern Minnesota retail locations
  • Complete drives of 8+ hours as needed; occasional overnight stays required
  • Use personal vehicle when needed; mileage reimbursement provided
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Required:
  • Valid Minnesota driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Proven handyman aptitude — you do not need formal training, but you need to be able to figure things out
  • Basic technology comfort — you can follow instructions, set up hardware, and troubleshoot common issues
  • Physically capable of working in tight or uncomfortable spaces and regularly lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnights
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must meet all state requirements for employment at a licensed cannabis facility in Minnesota
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with low-voltage cabling, structured wiring, or security/AV installations
  • Familiarity with basic network hardware and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience in retail, construction, or facilities maintenance
  • Any relevant trade certifications or coursework (low-voltage, electrical, IT, or similar)
  • COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • $70,000 annual salary
  • Company van provided for work travel
  • Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use
  • Benefits package (details provided during hiring process)
