Job Description
Parsons is seeking a Field Engineer – Pavement (Airfield) for a major airport runway development project.
The role supports execution and supervision of airfield pavement works, including construction, quality control, and coordination.
The position focuses on flexible and rigid pavement systems and compliance with aviation authority standards, approved drawings, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site pavement construction, including subgrade preparation, base and sub-base layers, asphalt paving, and concrete pavement works.
- Ensure runway, taxiway, and apron pavements follow approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
- Monitor paving operations, layer thickness, compaction, temperatures, and finishing tolerances.
- Coordinate field and laboratory testing for density, gradation, asphalt content, concrete strength, and smoothness.
- Verify compliance with ICAO, FAA, and local aviation authority pavement requirements.
- Identify quality issues and nonconformance reports and support corrective actions.
- Coordinate with survey teams to verify horizontal and vertical alignments, crossfalls, slopes, and tolerances.
- Assist with verification of levels, profiles, and as-built data.
- Liaise with construction, planning, QA/QC, and HSE teams on sequencing and productivity.
