Field Engineer

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end on-site IT support and first- and second-line assistance across assigned sites.
• Resolve incidents and requests within SLAs, including P1/P2 incidents and escalations to L2/L3 teams.
• Perform remote-hands work and administer local Windows Server infrastructure.
• Conduct server-room checks covering UPS, backups, equipment, cabling and environmental conditions.
• Administer Active Directory and support joiner, mover and leaver activities.
• Provide first-line network, Wi-Fi, cabling and access-point support.
• Manage device provisioning, imaging, deployment, refresh and decommissioning activities.
• Support computer labs, examination sessions, AV systems and classroom technology.
• Maintain asset registers, CMDB records, inventories, documentation and site runbooks.
• Coordinate vendors, manage queues, support major incidents and prepare service reports.
• Work shifts or extended hours and provide cross-coverage across field engineering teams.

Required Technical Skills

• Windows 10/11 deployment, imaging, troubleshooting and Windows estate management are required.
• Windows Server administration, monitoring, patching, role and service management, backup and restore are required.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, networking and endpoint deployment tools are required.
• Hardware troubleshooting, AV and classroom technology, and ITSM tools are required.
• Dell, HP or Lenovo experience is preferred.

Education and Certifications

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
• Microsoft certification such as MCSA, MCSE or MD-102 is preferred.
• CCNA or equivalent networking certification is advantageous.
• ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Fundamentals certification is preferred.

Other Requirements

• English and Arabic bilingual communication skills are required.
• A valid UAE driving licence is mandatory; an own vehicle is preferred.
• Strong self-management, time management and route-planning skills are required.
• The role requires work across multiple locations, shift patterns, extended hours and examination periods.
• Valid or clean police clearance is mandatory for school deployment, subject to client requirements.
• Understanding of child safeguarding and professional conduct is required in educational environments.
• Strong stakeholder-facing communication and cross-functional troubleshooting capability are required.

Work Setting

• The role is field-based and involves independent support across multiple education-sector locations.
• The position supports school, university, college or similar education-sector IT environments.
