About the Role
The Second Line team develops and maintains university IT and AV systems supporting teaching, learning, and management functions.
The Field Analyst provides general IT and AV support in a fast-paced, demanding, and supportive environment.
The role works across service delivery teams and requires cross-site working between Derby and Chesterfield campuses.
Full systems training and opportunities to develop broad IT skills and future specialisms are provided.
About You
- The ideal candidate is technically skilled, curious, and customer-focused, with broad understanding of modern IT technologies and their operational application.
- Broad technical knowledge should include application delivery, networking, operating systems, infrastructure, and related platforms.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent professional experience should provide an equivalent level of technical knowledge and capability.
- The candidate should demonstrate innovation, attention to detail, service quality, customer focus, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide general IT and AV support to students and staff across the University.
- Develop and maintain university IT and AV systems supporting teaching, learning, and management functions.
- Help ensure services run as expected and are maintained to the correct standards.
- Work across service delivery teams as business requirements change.
- Provide support across Derby sites, including Chesterfield and Derby campuses.
- Contribute to improving the efficiency, reliability, quality, and security of operational systems and services.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, practices, and customer service.
