Family Nurse Practitioner

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across all age groups
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with regulatory guidelines
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (lab work, imaging, screenings)
• Provide preventive care services, including vaccinations and routine health screenings
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, and injections
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care
• Participate in follow-ups and continuity of care management.

Education

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner program)

Licensure & Certification

• Current and unrestricted RN and APRN license
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (e.g., ANCC or AANP)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• *(For UAE roles: licensing through Dubai Health Authority or relevant authority such as MOH/DOH might require)*

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in primary care, family medicine, or outpatient settings preferred
• New graduates with strong clinical training may be considered.

• Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to manage patients across all age groups
• Knowledge of preventive care and chronic disease management

Working Conditions

• Outpatient clinic, family practice, or telehealth environment
• Flexible or shift-based schedule, including evenings or weekends if required
• May involve prolonged standing and performing minor procedures.
