Perform routine maintenance, repairs and Best Management Practices to exterior property, including, but not limited to: hardscapes, lighting, irrigation, turf, green infrastructure, snow removal, trash removal and equipment.
Assist with design, installation and maintenance of landscape beds and seasonal floral displays.
Ability to perform work orders and other duties assigned in an efficient manner.
Assist other departments with special events, set-ups and emergency situations.
Operate heavy machine1y and small engine equipment and provide routine and preventative maintenance on the same.
Respond to emergency situations concerning building security and integrity as needed.
On-call assignments as required.
Associate degree in Horticulture or relevant discipline OR at least seven (7) years of experience in Landscape or Grounds operations.
Ohio Commercial Pesticide license required or within 120 days of employment.
Extensive knowledge of plant material including Turf, Herbaceous, Woody and Native flora
Valid driver's license
Physical ability to work daily in variable weather conditions and maneuver hilly terrain and stairs
Ability to operate heavy machinery and small engine equipment
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., kneel, climb ladders/stairs and raise arms above head
Self-motivated team player with an emphasis on customer service for internal and external customers.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, faculty, staff, visitors and students.
