Facilities Maintenance Technician

High school education or general education degree (GED)

Years of Experience: Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred) Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)

• General knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: plumbing, painting, appliance repair, standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents or other staff of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Able to use equipment required for tasks; understands chemical interactions.
• Skills in organization, appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to make quick, clear judgments based on facts and communicates issues with sensitivity to different communication styles and personalities.
• Ability to handle high level of activity and multiple priorities in calm manner with common sense and independent action.
• Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing

Ability to commute/relocate: Portland, OR 97201: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
