Key skills for this role
Apply previous experience in experimental quantum technologies to operate ion-trap quantum computing hardware.
Develop quantum control protocols for ion shuttling and quantum gates.
Perform calibration, optimisation, and characterisation procedures on quantum computing hardware.
Develop theoretical models and simulations to compare experimental measurements with predicted quantum dynamics.
Work with a multidisciplinary and experienced team of Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Physicists and Quantum Engineers.
Assist in developing new concepts and develop new technologies for future products.
Strong experimental AMO physics experience: Especially in laser cooling and trapping, and/or quantum control experiments using ion-trap or neutral-atom platforms.
Proven ability to design, build, and improve experiments: Demonstrated through a strong publication record and/or hands-on experience developing complex experimental systems.
Strong modelling and simulation skills: Experience using simulations and theoretical models to guide experiments, interpret results, and optimise system performance.
