Job Summary

Lead the property's Rooms Operations across Front Office, Recreation/Health Club, and Housekeeping.

Work with department heads to develop and implement departmental strategies.

Ensure brand standards, guest needs, associate satisfaction, revenue growth, and departmental financial performance are achieved.

Education and Experience

  • One qualification path is a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major plus 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • The alternative qualification path is a 4-year bachelor's degree in a related major plus 2 years of relevant professional experience.

Managing Profitability

  • Analyze service issues, identify trends, and make decisions that keep the property moving toward its goals.
  • Develop an operational strategy with the Rooms management team and lead its execution.

Managing Revenue Goals

  • Monitor Rooms operations sales performance against budget.
  • Review reports and financial statements to assess Rooms operations performance.
  • Coach the operations team on occupancy, rates, wages, and controllable expenses.
  • Compare budgeted wages with actual wages and hold direct reports accountable for addressing problem areas.

Leading Operations and Teams

  • Champion the brand's service vision and ensure alignment across Rooms leadership teams.
  • Develop systems that help associates understand guest satisfaction results.
  • Communicate clear departmental goals to produce desired results.

Managing Guest Experience

  • Review guest feedback and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • Respond to guest problems and complaints.
  • Maintain regular visibility with customers to obtain feedback on product, service levels, and satisfaction.
  • Create an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations in Rooms and Food and Beverage areas.

Human Resources Activities

  • Set goals and expectations for direct reports and hold staff accountable through the performance review process.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports.
  • Ensure fair treatment, consistent policy administration, and proper disciplinary documentation.
  • Foster associate communication, feedback, service commitment, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement brand and regional business initiatives and communicate follow-up actions.
