Job Title : Evening Supervisor

Status : Part time position

Bi-Weekly hours : 60 hours

FTE :0.8

Schedule : Rotating shifts, working every other weekend

Reports to : Client Services Manager

Position Summary

Reporting to the Client Services Manager, the evening supervisor provides on‑site leadership and oversight to front line support staff within Peter Coyle Place.

This role ensures that residents receive high‑quality support with activities of daily living (ADLs) and social engagement, while maintaining a safe, respectful, and homelike atmosphere.

The Supervisor coordinates staffing, monitors service delivery, and acts as a key liaison between residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

1. Staff Supervision & Support

  • Provide daily on‑floor supervision to support staff during all shifts.
  • Offer coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback in real time.
  • Support new hire orientation, shadow shifts, and competency assessments.
  • Promote resident‑first culture and model best practices in care.
  • Facilitate team huddles and shift handovers.

2. Resident Care & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure support staff follow individualized service plans aligned with standards.
  • Monitor resident changes and ensure updates are documented in PCC and communicated to CSM.
  • Conduct routine walk throughs to observe care practices, safety, and dignity‑in‑care.
  • Participate in resident care conferences when required.
  • Support staff with complex care situations, responsive behaviours, or mobility challenges.

4. Scheduling & Workforce Management

  • Assist with shift scheduling and daily staffing adjustments.
  • Coordinate replacements, manage call‑ins, and balance resident needs with staffing ratios.
  • Monitor staff workload to ensure efficiency and fairness.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Review daily shift notes, incident reports, and service documentation for accuracy.
  • Ensure staff maintain confidentiality and follow FOIP/PHIPA‑related privacy standards.
  • Prepare performance summaries, audit findings, and quality‑of‑care reports as required.
  • Complete compliance audits, file reports other clerical duties as assigned

6. Safety, Emergency Response & Risk Management

  • Ensure staff follow emergency response protocols (e.g., evacuations, fall incidents).
  • Experience with Harm reduction programs
  • Investigate resident or staff incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor infection prevention practices (PPE, hygiene, cleaning routines).
  • Conduct safety rounds and equipment checks
  • Run fire drills and code tabletop exercises.

7. Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as a point of contact for residents and families regarding non‑clinical care concerns.
  • Maintain strong communication with leadership, Social work, hospitality teams, recreation, and management.
  • Promote teamwork and support initiatives that improve resident satisfaction and wellbeing.
  • Complete daily census and communication to the multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

  • PSW, Health Care Aide, or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in assisted living, supportive living, or seniors’ care.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in urgent situations.
  • Knowledge of resident care documentation systems and scheduling software.

  • On call rotation

  • Ability to respond to physical care needs, if necessary, including mobility support.
